Geo Tour in Nepal exhibits the youngest orogeny of the Earth resulted from the collision of Indian and Eurasian Plates during the Miocene (55 Ma). In this special tour, you will be well acquainted with a brief description of the Geographical Formation of modern Nepal.

Nepal covers an almost 800 kilometers segment of the central Himalayas. It is one of the best places to understand geological processes. Folded and faulted strata of rock and the landforms created by different sedimentary, meta-sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Serve various geological and Geo-morphological features within a narrow (100-150 kilometers) stretch. Reworks by glaciers, paleographers, and antecedent rivers further fascinate humankind to explore and enjoy sophisticated geological and Geo-morphological features.

Tectonically the Himalaya Faults are dividing into five tectonic units separated by major Himalayan Faults. These tectonic units from south to north are

  1. Indogangetic Plains of Pleistocene-recent alluvium
  2. Sub-Himalaya is comprising mollasce deposit of Miocene-Pleistocene age characterized by plat and vertebrate fossils
  3. Lesser. Himalaya comprising sedimentary and Meta-sedimentary Rock of Precambrian-Eocene age
  4. Higher Himalaya comprising high-grade metamorphic rocks of Precambrian age, and
  5. Tibetan-Tethys Himalaya were comprising sedimentary rocks deposited in Tethys Sea characterized by plant and invertebrate fossils along with the intrusion of Leucogranites.

The Kali Gandaki Section exposes all the tectonic units of the Himalaya within a narrow range. Beautiful snow-capped mountains (peaks within Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range). The World’s deepest gorge, a landform of the Tibetan Plateau are the characteristic of geomorphological features of this route.
