Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Once arrival in Kathmandu Nebula Travels and Tours representative meet and transfer to the hotel.

Once arrival in Kathmandu Nebula Travels and Tours representative meet and transfer to the hotel. After check-in at the hotel, we will do a briefing about the package. Late evening enjoyment walks in Thamel, a trendy touristic place in ancient Kathmandu. A bustling bazaar that offers a glimpse of Nepal's vibrant ethnic tradition, Buddhist Stupas and monasteries. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and Trek preparation day

Breakfast at hotel and today we will visit the most important shrines of Kathmandu Valley, including cultural and historical sites. The sightseeing places include historical Durbar Square (city of temples), Pashupatinath (The sacred holy temple belongs to Lord Shiva), Swoyambhunath (Known as monkey temple) and Bouddhanath (a Biggest stupa in the world). Late afternoon we will meet our trekking guide, and you will be provided with the opportunity to ask and question your guide for your upcoming journey. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (1-hour flight)

After our short stay in Kathmandu, we will take a short flight to Nepalgunj for one hour. It is situated at the Nepal – India Border, which is the gateway to the Humla and Simikot. It offers diverse cultures in the Terai region. We can spend our time visiting mini Zoo, Local Village and nearby market. Overnight at hotel in Nepalgunj.

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal (Dolpo) and Trek to Dunai (2850M) 45 minutes' flight and 2-3 hours trek

After breakfast transport to the airport and fly to Juphal, and we will meet our trekking crew at the Juphal airport. The trail passes through the terraced field through the Bheri River and to its narrow gorge. We will then reach Dunai which is also the headquarter of Dolpo district. On the northern side, we can see Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif. In the evening we will visit a nearby village where we will set our camp. Overnight in camp.

Day 05: Dunai to Ankhe (2896M)

We turn to the west after crossing the suspension bridge leaving Dunai behind and past the Hospital. Up the side of treeless the trail ascends up. Before entering the Phokshundo River valley, we pass through Thulo River Valley. Up to the valley, we view Kagmara peak during the walk. Walking through the dense jungle passing through Dhara and Rahagaun villages finally we reach Ankhe. Overnight in camp.

Day 06: Ankhe to Sulughat (5 to 6 hours)

Along the wooden bank, our trails ascend and descend and up on a steep trail. It could be a bit Monotonous while up and down, but the river stream located on the way offers the chance to cool off. High above the river after leaving the forest, the trail passes through the grassy slope. Surrounding by lush green forest, we trek downhill on a trail before reaching the cliff to the riverbank followed by dizzying on a wobbly stone staircase. Until we reach up to Sulughat, we will continue our trek. Overnight in camp.

Day 07: Sulghatt to Phokshundo Lake (3611M) 4 to 5 hours

4 to 5 hours - until we reach the confluence of the river Phokshundo and Pungmo we continue our trek along the valley floor. We walk to the western bank of Pungmo Khola after crossing the bridge. Before reaching Palam Village, we walk through the Cedar forest. We enjoy a distinct view of Phokshundo after we trek up to the ridge and also one of the highest waterfalls can be seen. From the bitch forest, our trail descends to the upper reaches of Phokshundo Khola. And the view of mud-plastered Chortens and Mani wall can be seen in Ringmo Village from where the Phokshundo is quite near. Overnight in camp.

Day 08: Acclimatization day at Phokshundo Lake

This is exploration and acclimatization day at Phokshundo Lake. This day we can do surrounding hikes around the lake also can visit the local village of Ringmo and its Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries. During our exploration, we can encounter with local culture and experience their lifestyle. Both Men and Women wear religious strings and ornaments — overnight in camp.

Day 09: Trek to Phoksundo River (4-5 hours)

Our trail moves around the western shore of Phokshundo Lake. At the west side of the lake, the trail goes through the lush meadow that opens up as a flood plain of Phokshundo Khola. Then we will walk through the valley avoiding the boggy Marsh that comes underfoot. Overnight in camp at Riverside.

Day 10: Phokshundo Khola to Phokshundo Bhanjyang (6 to 7 hours)

We walk on the trail for an hour, so heading towards the north that leads along the level path through the glacial valley. At the confluence of Mountain Stream and Phokshundo Khola, there is an old wooden bridge. We take our way towards North – East. A sheep meadow can be reached after the long climb. Another valley will come after the hard climb to the top from where we can see the Kang-La pass. Camp near the pass.

Day 11: Phukshundo Bhanjyang to Shey Gompa (4500M) via Kanga-La Pass (5360M) 5 to 6 hours

We ascend on the steep trail starting early morning, with slate towards the pass. It is quite strenuous to climb to the top of the pass, but it will provide an opportunity to see the excellent view of the valley dissected by a gushing river. Through the steep trail, we descend to the valley floor. Along the bank of the river, we walk on the meandering trail in which Crossing and re-crossing the river several times. Mud caves are lining the hills. We can see the grazing yak while we pass through the meadows. We reach the Shey-Gompa compound after crossing a quaint log bridge. Overnight in camp at Shey Gompa.

Day 12: Rest and Exploration day at Shey Gompa

Built-in 1655 the Shey Gompa Monastery is known for its giant copper and gold plated statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. One of the strangest and crystal mountain lies to the east of Gompa. For acclimatization, today is another well-earned rest day. Around Shey Village, we can do surrounding day hikes. This place is dominated by the Bon religion and famous for its ancient pre-Buddhist culture. With the teaching of Bouddha, Dolpo combines the Tibetan way of life and animism. Overnight in the camp.

Day 13: Shey Gompa to Namdunda Gaun (4800M) via Saldang La (5200M) 6 to 7 hours

With descent to the grey stone canyon we start our day following the pleasant trail surrounding by Junipher tree. Over the bare rocks, the trail goes through harsh weathering soil until we reach to the top of the Saldang-La pass. The long and tiring journey towards the north in which there is the comforting sight of grazing yak and sheep and nomadic tents made from yak hair. Also, we will visit the Namgung monastery in Namgung gaun. Overnight in camp at Namduna Gaun.

Day 14: Namduna Gaun to Saldang (3620M) 4 to 5 hours

We climb up the slope leaving the village behind along the dusty barren mountain. We will start to see the Saldang after 3 to 4 hours of a hard climb. High above the Nagma River stream and below the plateau we can see Saldang Village. Also, Saldang is the largest settlement in Upper Dolpo, and on an open slope the villages stretched around 2 KM., and it consists of 600 people and 80 well-built houses. This village situated at its strategic location on a trade route to Tibet and also prosperous in agriculture and culture. Overnight in the camp.

Day 15: Saldang to Yange Gumpa (4960M) 4 to 5 hrs walk

Along the Nagon River we walk further North from Saldang on a wild and barren terrain. With a few ups and downs, we begin walking on a relatively gradual trail. Marang and Ki villages lie on our path while we continue our trek. We walk towards the east while crossing tributaries of Panzang river and again we cross the river before reaching Yange Gompa, which is an old Bon-Po Monastries. Overnight in camp at Yange.

Day 16: Yange Gumpa to Sibu (4560M) 6 to 7 hours

To Connect to Sibu, there are two ways from Yange. To save our time which is much more comfortable and shortens than other routes, we take a walk back towards Saldang Village. We pass through the terraced field, Chorten, Stuupas, Chaiba Monasteries and Heaps of Mani Stones. We then meet Namdo Villages which is also one of the prosperous villages in Inner Dolpo, which consists of about 400 people and 60 houses on a high slope. It stretches more than 5 km, where to the left there is Khong River. Namdo monastery located at the River bed of Khong River. We will continue our journey towards downward along the river for about 2 hours to set up a camp near the small settlement Sibu. Overnight in camp at Sibu.

Day 17: Sibu to Jeng-la Phedi (4900M) 5 to 6 hours

For a while, we walk along the Nam Khong River. We also encounter Yak herds moving towards Tibetan Boarder. Walking for a while and turning east, we arrive at the confluence points of two small streams. Again the trail ascends steeply below the Jeng –La pass (4900 m) to a grazing area. We will set up our camp in this beautiful meadow — overnight in camp at Jeng-La Phedi.

Day 18: Jeng-La Phedi to Tokyo Gaun (4209M) via Jeng-La Pass (5090M) 5 to 6 hours

Wake up early in the morning and we will ready for today's trek. To reach on the top of Jeng-la pass we need approximately 2 hours to walk, and it offers a splendid view of the North face of Dhaulagiri Massif. Again we trek downward on a harsh trail to the Tharap Valley, which contains vast plains in high Mountains that extends to the Tarap Chu River which is 20 kilometers long. Overnight in camp.

Day 19: Tokyu to Dho-Tarap (4040M) 4 to 5 hours

Towards plain valley we trek downhill with the patches of grass on both sides of the river, which is one of the best views in Dolpo. There is also the wetland which is common characteristics in the desert mountain of Ladakh and Tibet Himalaya. In the valley, both Bon and Buddhist religions are in practice. After a short trek, we reach to Dho Tarap. Overnight in camp at Dho Tarap.

Day 20: Rest and Exploration day at Dho Tarap

We take some relaxation and strolling around the villages of Dho Tarap, Which is surrounding by an unusual stone wall. Our surrounding hike will help you to experience local culture, traditions, and customs. This area is mostly inhabited by Magar (Western Hill Tribe) and few Tibetans. Near to our campsite there lies a Gompa which we can Visit. Overnight in camp at Dho – Tarap.

Day 21: Dho Tarap to Tarap Khola ( Kamakharka 3800M) 6 to 7 hours

6 to 7 hours - We walk downhill towards a wide valley which will finally narrow into the gorge. We pass through the wild rose and Junipher bushes just above the tree line. The herd of blue sheep can be seen, and by afternoon we will pass through the confluence of Lang and Tarap Chu Khola, a stream that meets with Tarap Khola from further east. Set up a camp at the meadow. Overnight in camp at Tarap Khola.

Day 22: Tarap Khola to Khani Gaun (3150M) 4 to 5 hours

Through the gorge of Tarap River, we continue our walk at sometimes alongside it. We pass through the people who are seeking the pastures to their herds to save them from winter in high lands. As an exciting day of this trip in the deep gorge, this valley becomes so narrow that we can jump from one side to another. Sometimes the path will disappear, and we have to cross the river across the stone slabs fitted on logs in between the walls which provide as a bridge. Unexpected thrills and adventure will provide by the gorges. In some places, the bridge is damaged or wash away, where we have to cross the icy torrent on foot. Camping at Khanigaun.

Day 23: Khani Gaun to Tarakot (2537M) 4 to 5 hours

4 to 5 hours - until reaching the village of Lalbero We continue to follow the trail leaving behind the camp. The trail passes through the lush forest and continues to follow the river after descending to another gorge. We can visit Sandul Gompa after reaching Tarakot which situated at the Juncture of Barbung River & Tarap Chu River which is located approximately eight kilometers east of the village. To the south of Bheri River, the monastery stands on a hill. We will camp 150 meters below Tarakot by the Tarap Chu River.

Day 24: Tarakot to Dunai (2140M) 5 to 6 Hours walk

Behind the Bheri River we began our trek on a trail before crossing the bridge near the Lawn Village. Ascending until the Byas Ghadi, we continue to move alongside the Bheri River. The trail is relatively easy towards the west. We cross the river again near Lachakhola and ascend to Dunai. Toda's trek is blessed with beautiful pine trees and gorges. Camping at Dunai.

Day 25: Trek from Dunai to Juphal

From Dunai we will trek through the beautiful landscape along the Bheri River. On the way, we will visit Rupgad and Dhupichaur village with a Hindu temple. Before reaching the small airstrip Juphal we continue our trek visiting Motipur Villages and Kalagaonda Village. Camping in Juphal.

Day 26: Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj and connecting flight to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will board our flight to Nepalgunj at earliest possible and catch the connecting flight to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel after your arrival in Kathmandu. Rest day free to relax and in the evening Nebula Travels will offer you complimentary Nepali dinner with live culture show. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 27: Rest day in Kathmandu

To explore the Kathmandu valley this day has been set aside. You can explore Kathmandu on your own as it has seven world heritage sites. Or you may do the shopping for your dear and loved ones. Further, you need preparation for your journey back home.

Day 28: Departure Day/Tour End

After having breakfast at the hotel, wait till flight time then drives to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back home.
